For A Mighty Girl's new giveaway, we're thrilled to present Change Sings, an uplifting new picture book by #1 New York Times bestselling poet, author & activist Amanda Gorman!
"I can hear change humming..." a young girl thinks as she strums her guitar. But change doesn't happen by itself she realizes; people have to come together to make it happen. In her neighborhood, she finds all sorts of ways to make things better, from cleaning up a playground to feeding those in need to building a wheelchair ramp. Most importantly, she invites everyone around her to join in, no matter who they are. After all, she muses, "We're what the world is becoming, And we know it won't be long. We all hear change strumming. Won't you sing along?"
Throughout poet Amanda Gorman's gorgeous new picture book, all of the girl's actions are things kids can imagine themselves doing, empowering them to find ways to make a positive impact on their own community. All along, they are urged on by the girl's thought that "I'm the change I want to see... I am just what the world needs." Loren Long's vibrant illustrations depict a lively, diverse neighborhood filled with kids eager to make a difference in this upbeat ode to the power of cooperation to create positive change in local communities.
Thanks to its publisher Penguin Young Readers, three A Mighty Girl supporters will receive copies of the new picture book Change Sings, recommended for ages 4 to 8; a special gift edition of her inauguration poem The Hill We Climb; and her debut poetry collection Call Us What We Carry.
