If Kamala Can... You Can Too! Book Giveaway

For A Mighty Girl's new giveaway, we're excited to present If Kamala Can... You Can Too!, a new picture book to inspire kids to reach for their dreams!

Throughout her life, Kamala Harris has had numerous pivotal moments – from being part of the second class to integrate her elementary school, to serving as the first African-American attorney general of California, to becoming the first female vice president. Along the way, she drew strength from her mother's wisdom, found courage in her community, and learned that speaking up can make a real difference. Now, Young People's Poet Laureate Carole Boston Weatherford and illustrator Ariana Pacino bring these pivotal moments to life, showing young readers that their own everyday experiences are preparing them for extraordinary possibilities they might not yet imagine.

Inspired by a vision of empowerment and representation, Pacino's artwork transforms Harris's milestones into accessible moments of connection for children from all backgrounds. Her dynamic illustrations complement Weatherford's lyrical text, working together to show young readers that their current experiences – whether building community, asking questions, honoring the wisdom of elders, or standing up for what's right – are laying the foundation for future achievements. Through this unique lens, this stirring picture book delivers a powerful message that transcends politics: every child's dreams are valid, and with determination and support, nothing is out of reach.

Thanks to its publisher Sourcebooks, three A Mighty Girl supporters will each receive a copy of the picture book If Kamala Can... You Can Too!, recommended for ages 5 and up.
