In My Daughter's Eyes

In My Daughter's Eyes was the second single from Martina McBride's 2003 album Martina, which celebrated womanhood throughout. The album has been certified double platinum by the RIAA, and In My Daughter's Eyes reached the top five of both country and adult contemporary charts. In this single, McBride marvels at how her daughter's view of her -- as a hero, someone strong, wise, and fearless -- shows her the person that she wants to be. She realizes that her daughter makes her see what is truly important in life, which is struggling through all of life's challenges so that you can become the person you dream of being.

Notes for Parents: This single is gentle and sweet, a lovely tribute to relationships between women. The lyrics are simple enough to be accessible even to very young children, but the sentiment behind it is meaningful to everyone. The video is from a live performance at the Country Music Association's 2003 CMA Awards show.
