The Phantom Twin

16-year-old Isabel and Jane are the Extraordinary Peabody Sisters, conjoined twins who've lived in a traveling carnival freak show since their parents sold them at the age of 3. Then an ambitious surgeon offers to separate them surgically; Jane is thrilled at the idea of a "normal" life, while Isabel mostly agrees to appease her dominant sister. When the surgery tragically fails, causing Jane's death, Isabel loses an arm and a leg but gains a ghostly companion: her dead twin is now her phantom limb.

Isabel is left struggling with her new identity as a single person, and wrestling with the prosthetics she has to learn to use. She's lost her livelihood and isn't sure if she still has a place in her found family if she doesn't belong in a freak show any more. Haunted, altered, and alone for the first time, can Isabel build a new life that's truly her own? This sweetly spooky graphic novel explores identity, family, and what it takes to keep going when you think you've lost everything.
