Simone Biles: A Little Golden Book Biography

As a child, Simone Biles had a TON of energy — and she was always flipping and cartwheeling! Doctors diagnosed her with ADHD, but her parents knew that her energy was an asset when she channeled it to the things she wanted to do and learn. And when she discovered gymnastics, it was a match made in heaven! She rocketed up the ranks of American gymnastics, and then made a smash on the world stage, performing incredibly difficult tricks — including some that no one else had ever tried!

But things weren't always easy. When Simone went to the Olympics in 2021, she got a case of the "twisties," losing her sense of where her body was in space as she twirled and flipped. Despite the incredible pressure to compete, she knew it was too dangerous. Courageously, she let the alternate step in and cheered her teammates on from the sidelines!
