Juliette Gordon Low

Juliette "Daisy" Gordon Low founded the Girl Scouts of the United States in 1912. Low dedicated her life building the girl scouting movement in the U.S. and around the world and believed that "Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting can be the magic thread which links the girls of the world together." Low left a tremendous legacy; more than 50 million American women enjoyed girl scouting during their childhood and, many have been inspired by the Girl Scouts Law to "make the world a better place, and be a sister to every Girl Scout." To read more about Low's life, visit our blog tribute to this remarkable woman. To engage your Mighty Girl in the types of outdoor activities encouraged by the Girl Scouts, visit our Outdoor Play section and Natural World science section within Science / Math.
