King Verence, in a fit of enlightened democracy and ebullient goodwill, invites Uberwald's undead, the Magpyrs, into Lancre to celebrate the birth of his daughter. But everyone knows you don't invite vampires into your house — unless you want permanent guests. Once ensconced within the castle, these wine-drinking, garlic-eating, sun-loving modern vampires have no intention of leaving... ever.

This is normally where the Discworld's witches would step in, but Granny Weatherwax is missing. So now it's up to Nanny Ogg, Magrit Garlick, and Agnes (or Perdita... or both) to find Granny, figure out how to defeat the vampyres, and save the day. It turns out vampyres aren't the only ones who know how to go for the throat...
